déjà vu - PLEASE COME BACK SOON
Using Riso printing as both a process and concept, this project explores the feeling of déjà vu through a series of altered realities. Beginning with street photography at Venice Beach, the work captures strangers passing by. These images were then digitally edited and printed using Riso as a way to emphasize imperfection and layering, producing overlapping versions.
The repeated Riso prints introduce accidents and unpredictability, reinforcing the theme of déjà vu. Scanned and reassembled into a looping GIF, the images shifts between analog and digital, still and moving, day and night, real and imagined. “Déjà Vu - Please Come Back Soon” reflects on time’s passing, fleeting encounters with strangers, and the fragility of perception.
